myFICO Valentine's Survey

Do you ever wonder how love and money connect? We surveyed over 1500 myFICO customers to answer a few questions about their spending habits as well as the spending habits of the person they plan to spend this Valentine's Day with. Below are the results of our Valentine's Day survey.

While most will be spending moderately the Valentine's Day, we found it interesting that this year people are 4 times more likely to be "cheapskates" than "extravagant".
While the majority wait a while to discuss finances with their partner, men were nearly twice as likely as women to discuss finances right away.
Almost 10% felt that a person's FICO score was an indicator of their willingness to give a great Valentine's Day gift.
Nearly 60% preferred to date someone in the FICO Score range of 550-700. A FICO score of 760 or higher is considered a "great" score proving that the majority of people don't feel a great score is needed in a potential partner.
We're a bit embarrassed to report that men were 6 times more likely to choose "good looking" as the most important characteristic in a date.
As proof that opposites attract, 20% of couples described their spending habits as drastically different from their own and over 45% described them as moderately different.
