Nice article on CEP
...

John Morrell, with whom I have worked before, wrote a nice summary of Complex Event Processing (CEP) technologies for DM Review recently. I have blogged a fair bit about the role of automating decisions in event processing (such as this one and this one) as well as of the difference between embedding rules-based approaches into CEP and using rules to automate decisions in a way that allows them to be shared between event-based solutions and process-centric solutions. One of the key features of a more event-based approach to running a business is going to be the need to automate more decisions and to do so in a way that allows them to be re-used across different architectures and approaches.
