Using Decision Yield to measure IT superiority

This article by Paul Strassman - Measuring Your I.T. Superiority - was fascinating and made me thing about Decision Yield again. It seems to me that using a measure like Decision Yield to assess, in a multi-faceted way, how you use technology to improve decisions or indeed processes might be another way to talk about IT superiority. If I could say "Using this technology to improve the decision yield of our cross-sell decisions..." then I am sure I could get the attention of even the most technology-ignorant of execs. I might have to explain what decision yield meant but I am already getting them to focus on the benefits and return of technology.
