Return value
The stream number or a negative value in case of error.
Further information
1. This function opens a file and assigns the resulting stream to the current input stream (file open for reading), to the current output stream (file open for writing) or error stream (flag
XPRM_F_ERROR used). The value returned can be used as input for function
fselect.
2. The
binary mode is only effective under the Windows operating system. Its main effect is to disable the conversion of the
\n character into the sequence
\r\n when outputting text strings.
