New Versions of FICO Decision Management Tools Deliver Greater Power, Flexibility and Value

13 de abril de 2010

MINNEAPOLIS— April 13, 2010— Underscoring its commitment to continual innovation and investment in its products, FICO (NYSE:FICO), the leading provider of analytics and decision management technology, today announced two significant new releases within its suite of decision management tools: FICO™ Blaze Advisor® business rules management system, version 6.9, and FICO™ Model Builder version 7.0. The new releases give users greater flexibility and control in developing, deploying and managing connected decisions across their organizations.

FICO™ Blaze Advisor® 6,9 builds on the strengths of the world’s leading business rules management system (BRMS), known for speed and agility in the deployment and management of high-volume automated decisions. The highlight of the latest release is a new and improved rules management application (RMA), which leverages the latest web technologies to make rule authoring easier than ever for business users. It provides intuitive and more responsive navigation controls that simplify and streamline the process of finding and editing rules. Blaze Advisor 6,9 allows for flexible customization of the business rules maintenance interface and simpler integration with other applications, including portals and Microsoft Office.

FICO™ Model Builder 7 enables analytic professionals to build and deploy predictive models with the same tool used to develop the FICO® score and FICO custom scoring solutions. The new release represents a leap forward in productivity across the entire modeling lifecycle, from development through deployment and ongoing refinement. Enhancements in data exploration, data management and scorecard training dramatically reduce the time required to build and deploy high-quality models, so clients can realize value from them sooner. First-time users will experience a shorter learning curve than with previous versions.

Both new releases are designed to further enhance connected decision making across an organization. When used in combination, the models developed with FICO™ Model Builder can be integrated with business rules created in FICO™ Blaze Advisor® to turn predictions into connected decisions. This enables organizations to make high-volume operational decisions with greater precision, agility and consistency.

"In today's environment, an organization's ability to quickly develop, deploy and refine business rules and predictive models is critical to its competitive edge," said David Lightfoot, FICO's vice president of decision management products. "Blaze Advisor and Model Builder now deliver even more value to our clients, increasing their agility and enabling smarter, connected decision making."

"The environment emerging from the recession demands that organizations get better and faster at recognizing and acting on new risks and market changes," said Jim Sinur, vice president, Gartner Research. "In this environment, tools for analytic development and business rules management will take center stage. Competitive edge will go to those who build the best predictive models to identify and quantify this change, then deploy these models and adjust decision strategies quickly."
