FICO Score Facts

The most widely used credit scores are FICO® Scores, the credit scores developed by FICO and available through credit reporting agencies

White Paper

Introduced in 1989 in the US, the FICO® Score helps lenders make billions of credit decisions every year.

FICO® Scores:
  •  Are based solely on information in consumer credit reports maintained at the credit reporting agencies.

  • Are available to lenders from all three major US credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion).

  • Have a 300–850 score range—the higher the score, the lower the risk.
