Global profiling is a new technology that enables fraud systems to profile entities such as ATMs and merchants in addition to cardholders. 

Today’s most advanced card fraud systems do an excellent job of profiling cardholders and using these profiles to “customize” fraud detection. But the demands of today’s fraud market mean issuers need to go further. They need to comb through every scrap of transaction data available to pinpoint abnormal behavior patterns as they occur.
