Munich, November 23, 2020 -

Highlights:

  • Credit card fraud and its impact in Europe are extremely heterogeneous. Overall, however, fraud losses are slowly falling again after the increase in 2018.
  • In Germany, the trend of slowly decreasing numbers remains.
  • France and Italy face the largest increase in fraud losses in Europe.
  • "Card-Not-Present" fraud is by far the most common type of fraud in almost every country.

Once again this year, analytics software company FICO has published its European Fraud Map. The map, created in collaboration with market research firm Euromonitor, offers insights into credit card fraud trends in Europe.
