(Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA) - Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE:FIC), the leading provider of analytics and decision management technology, today announced that Cable & Wireless International (CWI) will use Fair Isaac's industry-standard roaming fraud solution to grant roaming privileges to more customers worldwide while minimizing fraud risk and losses.
Fair Isaac's RoamEx™ roamer data exchanger is the recognized market leader for providing near real-time roaming data exchange (NRTRDE) between wireless operators. Under terms of the new agreement, CWI will extend its RoamEx system coverage across its globally dispersed GSM networks from the Americas and Caribbean region to potentially include further operations in the South Atlantic, South America, Middle East, Pacific region and Europe.
The RoamEx system sends completed voice, message and data call records from the serving operator to the home operator, offering wider visibility of calls while CWI's subscribers are roaming. Roaming data delivered via the RoamEx system will reach the home operator within seconds of its arrival on the RoamEx network, allowing CWI to recognize and respond almost immediately to a potential fraud threat.
"Service is our top priority," said Obaid UrRahman, Director, Wholesale & Carrier Services at CWI. "Fair Isaac's RoamEx has enabled us to respond to roaming fraud activities in a timely fashion, substantially reducing the risk of fraud-related losses and therefore delivering more value to our wireless customers. With demand for wireless services growing strongly, we will be well positioned to provide our subscribers with affordable roaming options and the best quality service, while better controlling risk."
"This new global agreement with CWI complements RoamEx's international coverage of near real-time record exchange," said David Sult, vice president of Fair Isaac's Global Telecom Solutions. "It helps ensure that leading international operators such as Cable & Wireless are able to offer consistently high levels of customer service to more customers while maximizing roaming revenues and minimizing losses."
The RoamEx system offers wireless services providers an integrated suite of scalable, standards-based applications for fraud control, prepaid billing, account spending limit, usage monitoring, HUR reporting, roamer services, and data collection. It supports interfaces with a wide variety of platforms and networks, including digital networks such as GSM and CDMA. This coverage enables operators to offer a wide range of roaming options with substantially less risk.
RoamEx roamer data exchanger is part of Fair Isaac's Enterprise Decision Management (EDM) solutions that help telecommunications service providers guard against fraud and payment risk. More than 100 telecom clients work with Fair Isaac to acquire good customers, lower credit losses, manage customer relationships, reduce fraud, optimize network performance, minimize revenue leakage, increase retention and loyalty, and improve collections.
