Fourth Quarter Fiscal 2008 Results from Continuing OperationsThe company reported fourth quarter revenues of USD 178,2 million in fiscal 2008 compared to USD 198,7 million reported in the prior year period. Income from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008 totaled USD 23,8 million, or USD 0,49 per diluted share, compared to USD 32,5 million, or USD 0,59 per diluted share, reported in the prior year period.
Fourth quarter fiscal 2008 results included the following items: a USD 4,9 million tax benefit, or USD 0,1 per diluted share, arising from adjustments to income tax reserves that were established in prior years related to losses in foreign jurisdictions, and a USD 1,5 million after-tax restructuring cost, or USD 0,03 per diluted share.
Fourth quarter fiscal 2007 results included the following items: a USD 7,3 million tax benefit, or USD 0,13 per diluted share, arising from adjustments to income tax reserves resulting from the conclusion of a tax audit, and a USD 1,6 million after-tax restructuring cost, or USD 0,03 per diluted share.

Fiscal 2008 Full Year Results from Continuing OperationsThe company reported full year revenues of USD 744,8 million in fiscal 2008 compared to USD 784,2 million reported in the prior year. Income from continuing operations for full year fiscal 2008 totaled USD 81,2 million, or USD 1,64 per diluted share, compared to USD 111,9 million, or USD 1,94 per diluted share, reported in the prior year.

Bookings Highlights from Continuing OperationsThe bookings for the fourth quarter were USD 71,2 million compared to USD 93,3 million in the same period last year. Fiscal 2008 bookings were USD 327,3 million compared to USD 301,8 million for the prior year. The company defines "bookings" as estimated future contractual revenues, including agreements with perpetual, multi-year and annual terms. Management regards the volume of bookings achieved as one indicator of future revenues, but they are not comparable to, nor should they be substituted for, an analysis of the company's revenues.
Balance Sheet and Cash Flow HighlightsCash and cash equivalents and investments were USD 271,2 million at September 30, 2008, as compared to USD 246,8 million at September 30, 2007. Significant changes in cash and cash equivalents from September 30, 2007, include cash provided by operations of USD 159,2 million, USD 19,8 million received from the exercise of stock options and stock issued under an employee stock purchase plan, net increase in borrowings of USD 10 million, and USD 15,6 million received on the sale of the Insurance Bill Review unit. Cash used during fiscal 2008 includes USD 116,6 million to repurchase common stock, USD 22,8 million related to purchases of property and equipment, and USD 33,3 million related to the acquisition of Dash Optimization Limited.
