Adding and Editing Execution Workers
To add an execution worker:
- Click Add Execution Worker on the Execution services admin page.
Click Add Execution Worker
Control switches to the Add Execution Worker page.

- Complete the following fields:
- Name (required): An alias for the worker to serve as a brief identifier, such as localhost.
- Connection string (required): The format of the connection string is:
<connection type>:<server name or IP address>/<environment>
In most cases, the connection type will be xsrv. The environment must match a suitably-configured environment for the xprmsrv instance - it is recommended that you name the environment insight. A completed connection string might resemble:
Note You can optionally specify a port number as part of the connection string-the default value is 2513.<connection type>:<server name or IP address>(<server port>)/<environment>
xsrv:localhost/insight
For advanced users, the value is an mmjobs connection string as documented in the mmjobs module in the Mosel Language Reference Manual. - Thread capacity: The maximum number of threads to allocate to Xpress Insight jobs.
- Job capacity (required): This denotes the maximum number of jobs that the worker will be asked to execute concurrently. This number may be further limited by the environment configuration of the xprmsrv instance and the number of available licenses for that machine.
- Password and Confirm password: An optional password that can be used to restrict access to the worker.
- Enabled: Uncheck the Enabled checkbox if you do not want the Xpress Insight server to send jobs to this worker.
- Notes: A text area for you to store notes about the worker.
At any subsequent time, you can return to edit the worker's details by clicking on its name in the
Worker name column of the
Execution Workers section.
