Installing FICO Xpress Insight

Use the information in this section to install FICO Xpress Insight. FICO Xpress Insight is a 64-bit application and can only be installed on a 64-bit Windows system.
Before you begin, ensure that you correctly installed the 64-bit version of Xpress as described in the previous section. Also ensure that you have Java™ 8 64-bit installed, this can be verified as follows:
  1. Open a Command Prompt.
  2. Type the following command: java -version.
  3. A correct version of Java should match the highlighted portions of the following example output: 
    java version "1.8.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_51-b16)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.51-b03, mixed mode
    Note The patch version of Java does not need to match; this is the part of the version number showing as "_51" in the example output above.

If you do not have Java 8 installed, obtain it from the following site http://www.java.com and install onto your system, or ask your IT department if they can assist you.

Once you have FICO Xpress and Java 8 installed you can proceed with the following instructions to install FICO Xpress Insight:

  1. Obtain the FICO Xpress Insight software installer (FICO Xpress Insight 4.12 (64-bit)) .
  2. Run the setup file.
    If you are a Symantec user, click Allow this file to proceed.
  3. Select the default installation directory (C:\xpressmp).
  4. Select all components on the Custom Setup page.
  5. Accept the localhost default when prompted to enter the hostname/IP address of the FICO Xpress Insight Server.

You can now continue and optionally install Tableau for FICO as described in the next section.
