Managing Levels

In Xpress Insight you can insert, remove and replace levels (predictors), the columns associated with tree variables in the input data.

You view the properties of each level by highlighting it (it is outlined in blue) and selecting Properties. The Properties dialog displays the variable name, variable data type, and for categorical variables, its constraints (values). In addition, you can repair levels when errors occur during an FSML import.

    All nodes on a single level represent a segment of the same decision variable. When you first create a decision tree, it does not contain any levels (predictors) or condition nodes.
  • Removing Levels
    You can remove empty levels while editing a decision tree.
  • Replacing Levels
    You can replace the decision tree variable used for a level (predictor) as long as it is replaced with another of the same data type.
