Advanced Installer Options

The FICO® Xpress Insight 5 software can be installed and removed interactively using the Windows operating system user interface. There is also the option to automate these processes.

The JAVA_HOME and XPRESS_INSIGHT_* environment variables need to be set globally. During a manual installation, this would be performed using the System > Advanced > Environment Variables dialog in the Windows UI. Setting these variables in an automated script may, depending on the scripting method, only apply those changes during the execution of the script itself. Take steps to ensure that variables are set globally, such as by using the Windows SETX or SET command.

    There are two tiers of options: the first set are used by the installer, the second are forwarded by the installer to the built-in Windows application msiexec.exe which handles the bulk of the installation process.
