Prerequisites

This section details the software prerequisites for this product.
Note Supported Platforms are detailed in the appendix of the FICO Xpress Insight Installation Guide.

FICO® Xpress

Windows

There are no prerequisites for Windows installations.

Linux

Requires _ glibc.i686 (for 32-bit Xpress on 64-bit Linux)

Mac

There are no prerequisites for Mac OSX installations.

FICO Xpress Insight

FICO® Xpress is a pre-requisite of FICO® Xpress Insight.

Before you begin, ensure that you have the correct version of FICO® Xpress for the version of Xpress Insight that you are installing.
  • Xpress 8.10 is recommended for Xpress Insight 4.53.4.
Prerequisite software which is not included with the distribution:
  • Java 11 is required. Xpress Insight 4.53.4 supports any OpenJDK. FICO recommends Amazon Corretto.
  • Internet Explorer 11 or later, or the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome

PostgreSQL and Wildfly are included with Xpress Insight.

The following software is optional:
  • Tableau for FICO Server 2018.1 or later.
  • Tableau for FICO Desktop 2018.1 or later.

Linux

Xpress Insight is made up of two separate applications: Xpress Insight Server and Xpress Insight Execution Worker. Each application has its own installer and each can be installed on separate machines if required. See the chapter Installation on Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the Xpress Insight Installation Guide for more.

Mac

FICO® Xpress Insight is not supported on Mac OSX.

FICO Xpress Insight App Server

The following must be installed:
  • Java 11 is required. Xpress Insight supports any OpenJDK. FICO recommends Amazon Corretto.
  • PostgreSQL 9.5

Linux

FICO® Xpress Insight App Server requires that some software be installed on your Linux system prior to installation. Xpress Insight Server only supports running against a database on the same machine. It is recommended to set the following environment variables before installation:
  • XPRESSDIR to point to the Xpress directory. The Xpress installer outputs instructions on how to set related environment variables.
  • JAVA_HOME set to point to your Java installation.
  • If a custom data directory is used for PostgreSQL then set the PGDATA environment variable to point to this directory.

Mac

FICO® Xpress Insight App Server is not supported on Mac OSX.

FICO Xpress Insight Execution Worker

The core Xpress software (which is a separate installer package) must be installed and properly licensed prior to installing the Xpress Insight Execution Worker on a machine. Each execution worker can run on a separate machine, and you can configure as many as are required subject to licensing arrangements.

Windows

The FICO® Xpress Insight software components will be added to the installation folder of the Xpress software. FICO® Xpress Insight version 4.53.4 requires Xpress version 8.10.

Linux

At the end of the FICO® Xpress installation, instructions are provided on setting up environment variables for Xpress. Follow these steps to set the XPRESSDIR environment variable, which the FICO® Xpress Insight Execution Worker installer will use as the base directory for installation.

Mac

FICO® Xpress Insight Execution Worker is not supported on Mac OSX.
