Accessing Scalar Entities

Scalar entities have value and label properties, as well as a reference.

For example, in the context of this guide's example project:

Code editor
<vdl version="4.7">
    <vdl-page>
        <vdl-section>
            <vdl-row>
                <vdl-column>
                  <span vdl-text="=scenario.entities.Return.value"></span>
                  <span vdl-text="=scenario.entities.Return.label"></span>
                </vdl-column>
            </vdl-row>
        </vdl-section>
    </vdl-page>
</vdl>

Entering scalar entities in the View Designer

renders as:
A Rendered Scalar Entity

A Rendered Scalar Entity

You can also refer to scalars within a larger expression:
Code editor
<span vdl-text="='The calculated Return is ' +
                  scenario.entities.Return.label"></span>
