Upgrading from FICO Xpress Insight prior to 4.50

Xpress Insight 4.50 and above requires FICO® Xpress 8.6, and uses apps which have been compiled using Mosel 5. Xpress Insight 4.53.4 and above requires FICO® Xpress 8.10, and uses apps which have been compiled using Mosel 5.

Prerequisites

The following must be installed prior to upgrading to Xpress Insight 4.50.
  • Java 11 is required. Xpress Insight supports any OpenJDK. FICO recommends Amazon Corretto.
  • ® FICO® Xpress 8.6

Introduction

You must have FICO® Xpress 8.6 installed to be able to run Xpress Insight 4.50+. FICO® Xpress 8.6 includes Mosel 5, which enforces several language and logic changes that could adversely affect your apps. We strongly recommend you follow good practice when upgrading your apps. Always test your changes thoroughly in a development environment before applying the changes to your live environment. Mosel 5 includes changes to;
  • the behavior of arrays that are not explicitly defined as dynamic.
  • the default visibility of model entities to Insight.
  • how packages included with the uses keyword are handled.

After you have installed Xpress Insight 4.50+, you can upgrade your apps to be compatible. Use FICO® Xpress Workbench to make the requisite changes to the app implementation and then publish the upgraded app to Insight.
