Installing or Upgrading Tableau for FICO on Windows

Tableau Services Manager (TSM) replaces the Configuration Utility and the command line tool used in versions prior to Tableau 2018.2.
Download and copy the appropriate bundle to the target machine.
  • If you currently use version 2018.1 or older then FICO recommends you back up your Tableau for FICO configuration and uninstall your current version before installing 2019.4.
  • If you are upgrading from Tableau 2018.2 or above, you do not need to uninstall Tableau for FICO. The FICO Xpress Insight integrated installer offers a clean install and configure option for Tableau—Skip this step and use the separate installer from the installation package provided by Tableau to upgrade your existing installation. For more, see https://help.tableau.com/current/server/en-us/sug_upgrade.htm.

Tableau specifies minimum hardware requirements and recommendations that apply to all computers running Tableau for FICO version: 2019.4, including physical hardware and virtual machines (VMs). Full details are available on the Tableau website, for more see Infrastructure Planning.

  • Minimum requirements are the minimum hardware your computer must have in order to install Tableau Server. If your computer does not meet these requirements, the Setup program will not install Tableau for FICO. These requirements are appropriate for testing and prototyping.
  • Minimum recommendations are higher than minimum requirements, and represent the minimum hardware configuration you should use for a production installation of Tableau for FICO. If your computer meets the minimum requirements but does not meet these recommendations, the setup program will warn you but you can continue the installation.

In addition, Tableau for FICO should not be installed on a physical computer or VM instance that is also running resource-intensive applications such as databases or application servers.

If you install Tableau for FICO on a computer that meets the minimum requirements but does not have at least 8 cores and 16 GB of system memory, the default number of all processes installed is reduced to one of each process by design.

For Windows installations, see Tableau Server Windows Minimum Hardware Requirements and Recommendations.

For Linux installations, see Minimum Hardware Requirements and Recommendations for Tableau Server.
