Providing Parameters to Tableau Views

Some Tableau reports/views require user-provided parameters before they can render.

When you first access a Tableau view that requires parameters, Xpress Insight displays an alert in the main view pane: Please select your tableau parameters from the left hand menu to configure your view.

The required parameters vary depending on the type of report requested, and a vertical menu offers a set of input controls from which you can make your selections.

For example, in the case of an Efficient Frontier report, you might be asked to provide parameters for the X-axis and the Y-axis. Select the inputs from the drop-down lists. When all parameter selections have been made, the report renders automatically.
