Assigning Treatments in Decision Trees

You can assign previously-created treatments to the leaf nodes of decision trees.
Tip In the Tree View, you can only select a single leaf node to assign a treatment. If you need to assign the same treatment to multiple leaf nodes, it is faster to use the Profile View or Leaf View to make these assignments because you can select multiple leaf nodes in both these views.
  1. In the Tree View, select a leaf node and choose Edit > Assign treatments or use the right-click shortcut menu.
  2. In the Assign Treatments dialog, choose your desired treatment and click ASSIGN.
Note Assign a color to a treatment if desired—When you double-click the Name of the treatment, click the dropper icon and select a color.
  3. As well as assigning treatments, you can copy and clear treatments; both commands are invoked in the same way as Assign Treatments.
  4. You can use the Leaf View to analyze assigned treatments; this is especially useful for large trees. Sort the tree for easier analysis. Sort by the W%T column to identify the data distribution. Look for small or large percentages in each leaf node to help you determine if you need to modify the split conditions.
