Pre-Configured System Authorities Overview

The following concepts are used extensively in the explanations of the authorities:

• An object, usually a scenario or folder, is accessible to a user if one of the following conditions is true:
  • The object is owned by the user.
  • The object is fully shared.
  • The user has an authority.
• An object is editable if it is not locked for editing by another user and does not have an active (queued, paused, executing) job in the job queue.
• The contents of an app are any folders and scenarios contained within the app. The contents of a folder are any sub-folders and scenarios contained within the folder.
• Authority level assignments will determine what menu options a given user will see (and have access to) from the Xpress Insight user interface.
