Installing Tableau for FICO on Linux

There are two sections you should refer to before continuing the installation process.
This outlines the supported Linux distributions and minimum required hardware.
Note If you are planning to install both Xpress Insight and Tableau server on the same Linux server then please check the operating system requirements for both installations before installing. Xpress Insight supports RHEL 6 & 7 whereas Tableau server supports RHEL 7.3 and above.

If you are happy that your server meets the requirements, download and copy the appropriate Tableau server bundle to the target Linux server. FICO provides the installation media for Tableau Server.

Before you install Tableau server please ensure that:
  • The user installing Tableau server requires sudo access.
  • You have a valid license key for Tableau server.

For the latest instructions on how to install Tableau Server, please go to the section Install and Configure Tableau Server.

Please ignore the steps regarding the download of the installer package as this has already been provided to you.

Note It is recommended to use the Linux package manager ( yum) to install Tableau server and to download and install its dependant packages. If your organization does not allow the use of yum you must install using rpm and install all dependant packages separately. For information about installing dependent packages, read the section Install Tableau Server in a Disconnected (Air-Gapped) Environment.
Note If the licensing step fails please try a few times. On occasion this step can fail and retrying often resolves the issue.

After Tableau server has been installed you will need to install the PostgreSQL driver and configure Tableau Server for Xpress Insight to use.
