Cloning and Deselecting a Scenario in the Scenario Manager

This exercise shows you how to clone the scenario you selected in the previous exercise and then deselect the original scenario.

Before you can continue with this part of the tutorial you must have completed the previous tasks.

For this exercise you will copy and paste Scenario 1 to create a scenario called Scenario 1A and then remove the original scenario from the shelf.

  1. Click on the shelf to open the Scenario Manager.
  2. In the folder list (displayed in the left pane), select the folder containing the scenarios you wish to use.
  3. In the scenario list, select Scenario 1.
  4. Click Copy then click Paste.
    Note Insight does not allow two scenarios to have the same name. If the paste operation would create an identically named scenario, the newest scenario name has a suffix number in brackets applied. Subsequent paste operations using the same scenario increase the suffixed value.
  5. Select the new scenario in the Scenario Manager and click Add to place it on the shelf.
  6. Select Scenario 1 in the Scenario Manager and click Remove to clear it from the shelf.
  7. Click CLOSE to close the Scenario Manager.

This exercise shows you how to clone the scenario you selected in the previous exercise and then deselect the original scenario.

For this exercise you will clone Scenario 1 to create a scenario called Scenario 1A and then remove the original scenario from the shelf.

  1. Click on the Scenario 1 tab and select Clone from the drop-down list.

  2. In the Clone Scenario dialog box, edit the Name field. Rename the scenario to Scenario 1A then click OK.
    Important The App page does not display the cloned scenario. You will have to select it from the Scenario Manager to put it on the shelf.
  3. Open the Scenario Manager and select Scenario 1A. You can also clear Scenario 1 to remove it from the shelf. Click CLOSE.
    The shelf shows the selected scenario.
  4. (Optional) If you did not clear Scenario 1 when selecting Scenario 1A, you can click the Scenario 1 tab and click Remove from the drop-down list.
    Scenario 1 is removed from the shelf. It has not been deleted from the app and can be selected again through the Scenario Manager.
