findtext

Purpose

Search for a string in a text or string.

Synopsis

function findtext(txt:text, toft:text, start:integer):integer

function findtext(txt:text, tofs:string, start:integer):integer

function findtext(str:string, tofs:string, start:integer):integer

Arguments

txt	A text object
str	String
toft	Text to find
tofs	String to find
start	Starting position for the search

Return value

Index of the string or 0 if not found.

Example

The following:

writeln(findtext("abcdefgh","de",2))
writeln(findtext("abcdefgh","de",5))

produces this output:

4
