Restoring a Database Backup
pg_restore
program to restore a database backup previously created with the pg_dump
program.

Windows
Minimal steps to restore a database backup are listed below. It is assumed that the superuser for the database is postgres
. The superuser for Xpress Insight will be the same as the Windows account that installed the software.
set PGBIN=%XPRESSDIR%\insight\db\pgsql\bin
set PGUSER=postgres
set BKFILE=insight.backup
%PGBIN%\pg_restore -c -d insightdb %BKFILE%
Linux
Minimal steps to restore a database backup are listed below. It is assumed that the superuser for the database is postgres
. The superuser for Xpress Insight will be the same as the Linux account that installed the software.
BKFILE=insight.backup
pg_restore -U postgres -c -d insightdb $BKFILE
Upgrading a restored backup
systemctl stop xpress-insight-server
cd $XPRESSDIR/insight/db/upgrade
psql -Upostgres insightdb < insight-postgresql-upgrade.sql
cd -
systemctl start xpress-insight-server
