Testing LDAP Configuration

Test LDAP user authentication when in Partial mode. For more on modes, see Authenticating Users with Active Directory or LDAP
  1. From any of the main pages within the Web Admin client, select Users from the header bar to access the List Users page.
    All users within the Xpress Insight system.
  2. Click Add User.
    Note: You are prevented from adding users when Full LDAP integration mode has been selected, you can view user details only. For more see Authenticating Users with Active Directory or LDAP.
  3. Enter the username of a valid user within LDAP, assign them an appropriate Authority group and click Save Changes. If LDAP is correctly configured, the user will save successfully. Otherwise an error will be displayed indicating why the user was not created.
  4. (Optional) If the user was successfully created the authentication can be checked by logging in to Xpress Insight as this newly created user through the Web client – http://<hostname>:8860/insight (where <hostname> is the computer hosting Xpress Insight Server) .
