Configuring Xpress Insight File System Access on Windows

Xpress Insight default security restrictions prevent the Execution Worker from accessing file system locations outside of the local working directory of the executing scenario.

Xpress Insight can be granted access to specific paths on the local or network file system. There are three allow-lists of trusted paths that grant read, read-write, and execute permissions respectively.

To grant access to a file path follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Execution Worker configuration file <installdir>/bin/xprmsrv.cfg in a text editor.
  2. Append the path to one or more of the allow-lists, including the appropriate separator as necessary:
    • MOSEL_ROPATH grants read-only access
    • MOSEL_RWPATH grants read-write access
    • MOSEL_EXECPATH grants execute access
  3. Open the Services dialog from the Windows Control panel and restart the FICO Xpress Insight Execution Worker service.
