Upgrading Tableau Server for Windows
Upgrading Tableau Server
FICO recommend taking a backup of your Tableau files before you upgrade Tableau Server. If you currently use a version of Tableau prior to 2018.1, Tableau recommend you uninstall that version prior to installing 2023.3—For more, see the Tableau support site. Keep a copy of your Tableau license key, if you have one, prior to uninstalling the old version. You may also want to deactivate your license at this point, and re-activate it as part of the new installation. This can be done through the Manage Product Keys option, either in the pop-up menu on the Tableau System Tray icon or the Tableau Start Menu folder. If you are upgrading from Tableau 2018.2 or above, you do not need to uninstall Tableau.
