Initializing help system before first use

Installing FICO® Xpress Insight

Make sure your system meets the requirements. Xpress Insight is a 64-bit application and can only be installed on a 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® system. In addition, the following prerequisites must be installed:
  • Java™ 17.0.9 or later or OpenJDK 17 64-bit. Xpress Insight supports any OpenJDK distribution; however, FICO recommends Amazon Corretto.
Tip: To check your JDK version, open a command prompt and run the command java -version.
  • FICO® Xpress 9.3.

To install FICO Xpress Insight, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain the software installer file.
  2. Run the installer.
If you are a Symantec user, click Allow this file to proceed.
  3. Accept the default installation directory (C:\Program Files\FICO\Xpress Insight).
  4. On the Custom Setup page, select all components.
  5. When prompted to enter the hostname/IP address of the FICO® Xpress Insight Server, accept the localhost default.
Note: In this configuration, the local file system is used to store project data. To configure the system to store data in a MySQL database instead, see the Insight 5 Installation Guide.
