Known Issues - Version 6.3.3 Functionality not Present FICO Decision Optimizer 7.x and 8.x
With a complete rebuild of the software, the focus of the initial Decision Optimizer version 7.x release was to ensure that all core version 6.3.3 functionality—that functionality used in the majority of projects—was included as a minimum. In addition, we also prioritized the inclusion of a range of new functionality in areas that had been identified for improvement as work continues towards a strategic goal of supporting the complete end-to-end decision optimization process.
Consequently, some non-core Decision Optimizer 6.3.3 functionality was not available in version 7.x, but was prioritized for inclusion in future releases. With current plans aligned with a quarterly release cycle, all required version 6.3.3 functionality will be implemented within a few releases.
For many of these unsupported, non-core areas of functionality, workarounds exist where the same result can be achieved with a different project set-up and approach. These are indicated with an asterisk (*) in the following sections.
General Project Functionality
- Segmentation
- No support for creating a binning based on a percentage of accounts
- No support for creating binnings based on actual data values
- No support for creating binnings from an imported XML file
- No equivalent for the Prod utility—supporting the production execution of a Decision Optimizer scenario
- No direct support for the sequence project type
- No link to the FICO Model Builder home directory to support the movement of models
Decision Optimizer 6.3.3 Design View (version 7.x and 8.x Decision Impact Model)
- Account inputs
- No option to use the segment-level processing level *
- No option for the use of a Possible Uncertainty data role
- No support for the import of data files in the MBD data format
- No support for the import of data from ODBC data sources
- No support for importing multi-part data files
- No support for configuring user-defined account IDs. Decision Optimizer version 9.2 assigns each record a unique integer identifier with values 1, 2, 3 etc. in a new variable named accountid, except in projects where the first column of the account input data file contains integer or string values that are unique to each record, in which case that first column is taken as the unique record identifier.
- Treatments
- No support for relative values (additive delta or multiplicative factor)
- No support for setting historical actions—for use in reports
- Components
- Look-up tables—no support for series outputs
- No support for extended scorecard models
- No support for SAS regression models (this is replaced by wider support for PMML)
- No support for custom models (Java)—this is to be replaced by support for R and Mosel
- No support for Model Builder process (.jar)—obsolete
- No support for PMML neural network models
- No graphical editor for look-up models/decision tables
- No table editor for PMML models
- Algorithms
- No support for custom algorithms built in Mosel
Decision Optimizer 6.3.3 Scenarios View (version 7.x and 8.x Scenarios)
- No support for uncertainty/robust optimization
- Scenario groups now supported via Scenario Folders created in the Scenario Explorer
- No support for setting applicable treatments by segment in each scenario (these can be set by segment at project level and by treatment at scenario level)
- No support for defining the priority of constraints
- Optimization algorithm/solver—scenario run times in version 7.x are comparable to those in version 6.3.3 using the standard or high capacity algorithm—many are faster.
- No option to reuse existing results - with partial DIM execution
- No option to output the scenario output data files in MBD format or to ODBC databases
Decision Optimizer 6.3.3 Reports (version 7.x Reports)
No report frameworks for the following version 6.3.3 reports:- Distribution
- Constraint table
- Time series
Decision Optimizer 6.3.3 Status (version 7.x Jobs)
