New Functionality and Changes Introduced with Decision Optimizer 9.0
The version 9 series of releases builds on the strong Xpress Technology foundation and moves to Xpress Insight 5, which is a more lightweight, modern stack with improved resiliency. Additionally, major improvements in the user experience with reporting and overall installation are achieved by being independent of Tableau and replacing it with VDL.
This release requires users to upgrade to Xpress 9.3 and Xpress Insight 5.9.
The focus for the version 9.0 release has been improving usability and providing new capabilities, as detailed below.
New Features and Changes
- The reports were re-engineered for improved performance, and the dependency on Tableau software has been removed. Other enhancements include:
- Overall enhancements in usability and consistency, with updated styling and compact sizing of tables
- Combined View parameters (left panel), with scenarios, segment, metric groups, and metrics filters (right panel) into one comprehensive set of filters.
- Improved usability and clarity on Report configuration, and configurations now work across the suite of reports.
- Report Export for each report is now a true .xlsx format, so the format is persevered, is much cleaner, and is easier to use outside of Decision Optimizer.
- Note that the Penetration Report is not supported in Decision Optimizer 9.0.
- Updated Decision Tree Editor
- Numerous UI display enhancements provide a better user experience and allow easier visual checks of logical consistency
- Copy-n-paste now amongst two trees. Previously this was only allowed within a tree.
- Unique Note identifier (NodeID) added to SAS code output.
- Importing from Decision Optimizer 8 is supported as long as you are importing from Decision Optimizer 7 or later and Xpress 4.59.1 and later.
- Note that importing directly from Decision Optimizer 6 is not supported in Decision Optimizer 9. If you need to migrate a Decision Optimizer 6 project, first import/upgrade to a recent version of Decision Optimizer 8. Then follow the steps to migrate the Decision Optimizer 6 project to Decision Optimizer 9.
- The maximum size of an exported INSIGHT file has been removed in Decision Optimizer 9. Note that it was 600MB in Decision Optimizer 8.
- R component is not supported in Decision Optimizer 9 on FICO Platform. You can continue to use it in Decision Optimizer 9 on-premises.
