Note: If you are planning to install both
Xpress Insight and
Tableau Server on the same Linux server then please check the operating system requirements for both installations before installing.
Xpress Insight supports RHEL
8 through
9 whereas Tableau server supports RHEL 7.3 and above.

If your server meets the requirements, download and copy the appropriate Tableau Server bundle to the target Linux server.
- The user installing Tableau Server requires
sudo
access. - You have a valid license key for Tableau Server.
For the latest instructions on how to install Tableau Server, go to the section Install and Configure Tableau Server. Ignore the steps regarding the download of the installer package as this has already been provided to you.
Once you have completed the installation of Tableau Server, you will need to install the MySQL driver so Tableau can access the mirror database.
Go to the Tableau Driver Download page. In the filter, choose MySQL for the data source and Linux for the operating system. Follow the instructions to complete the driver installation.

Note: It is recommended to use the Linux package manager (
yum ) to install
Tableau Server and to download and install its dependant packages. If your organization does not allow the use of
yum you must install using rpm and install all dependant packages separately. For information about installing dependent packages, read the section
Install Tableau Server in a Disconnected (Air-Gapped) Environment.

Note: If the licensing step fails please try a few times. On occasion this step can fail and retrying often resolves the issue.
