Initializing help system before first use

Prerequisites

This section details the prerequisites for using Xpress Insight.

Software Prerequisites

Before installing Xpress Insight, you should install:
  • FICO Xpress 9.4.2
  • Java is required. Xpress Insight supports 64-bit Oracle Java or OpenJDK 17.0.9 or greater (minor versions). FICO recommends Amazon Corretto. Always install the most recent available supported minor version; do not upgrade to a major version of Java that is not supported by Xpress Insight.
Note: Keytool, shipped as part of Java, is also required.
    • For Linux, go to /usr/local/java/bin# ./keytool.
    • For Windows, find the JDK install path and check bin folder.
Important: Xpress Insight deployment requires a Java JDK. Executing with a JRE is not supported.
  • The latest version of Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome
  • MySQL v8.x with vendor support or above – If MySQL storage is preferred, this should be installed by the customer and as it is not provided by FICO.

Installing MySQL

Xpress Insight can use the file storage associated with your operating system or MySQL. If you wish to use MySQL you must install your own copy of the software using MySQL version 8.x with vendor support or above. The installation files and instructions are available on the MySQL website.
