Mapping Execution Environments to Apps

The application.properties file for an Insight worker controls the environment (the set of environment variables and their values) the scenario model is executed in. This file defines a default environment and can optionally define additional custom environments.
The Execution Environment Mappings view on the ADMIN page allows a user with the SYS_SERVICES authority to specify that scenario models for a given app are executed using a custom environment.
Note: The app-specific environment overlays the default environment. Any variables defined in the app-specific environment override variables of the same name in the shared environment.

To map an app to a custom environment, follow these steps:

  1. On the Admin tab, select Execution Environment Mappings in the left pane.
  2. Deselect Use default execution environment for the app.
  3. Enter the namespace for the custom environment in the text box that appears. In this example, the string to enter would be CUSTOM_ENVIRONMENT_1.
    Insight.worker.execution.custom-environment.CUSTOM_ENVIRONMENT_1.ENVNAME=val
  4. Click the SAVE button on the right side of the row. The mapping will take effect for the next scenario execution of that app.
