Importing Apps from the Server Network Location

When importing an app from the server network location, you have two options for the ownership of imported objects.
These are the two options:
  • Take ownership of all folders and scenarios.
  • Preserve (if possible) the ownership of the folders and scenarios recorded in the export file.
If the option to preserve ownership is selected, then the system attempts to match the owners in the export file to the current users using these rules:
  • First the system tries to match on an internal identifier. This is possible only if the file was exported from the system it is being imported into.
  • If the internal identifier is not matched, the system tries to match the username.
  • If the user name is not matched, then the importing user becomes the assigned owner.

To import an app from the server network location:

  1. Go to the Home page.
  2. Click on the Advanced option.
  3. Choose the Import App menu option.
The Import App dialog opens showing file listing of the network location.
  4. Choose the appropriate .insight file.
  5. Choose the desired ownership option.
The Tasks Dialog opens to show the new background task to import the app. When the task completes, the imported app appears as a new tile on the Home page.
