Replacing Levels

You can replace the decision tree variable used for a level (predictor) as long as it is replaced with another of the same data type.
Note: Replacing levels is especially useful when the tree variable name changes over time, or between the time you built the tree and the set of input records you are now applying the tree to.
  1. Select the level you wish to replace—it is outlined in blue.
  2. Select Edit > Replace Level or select the command from the shortcut menu.
  3. Select a variable from the drop-down list and click APPLY. The split values from the original level are preserved.
Note: Only variables of the same data type are available in the drop-down list.
  4. Edit the values by editing or inserting a split.
