Cloning and Deselecting a Scenario in the Scenario Manager

This exercise shows you how to clone the scenario you selected in the previous exercise and then deselect the original scenario.

Before you can continue with this part of the tutorial you must have completed the previous tasks.

Cloning a Scenario

For this exercise you will copy and paste Scenario 1 to create a scenario called Scenario 1A and then remove the original scenario from the shelf.

  1. Click on the shelf to open the Scenario Manager.
  2. In the navigation list (displayed in the left pane), select the folder containing the scenarios you wish to use.
  3. In the item list (displayed in the right pane), select Scenario 1.
  4. Click Copy then click Paste. Click Proceed, and then Close to complete the operation.
    Note: Insight does not allow two scenarios to have the same name. If the paste operation would create an identically named scenario, the newest scenario name has a suffix number in brackets applied. Subsequent paste operations using the same scenario increase the suffixed value.
  5. Select the new scenario in the Scenario Manager and click the Rename button. Rename the Scenario to Scenario 1A and then click SAVE.
  6. Place it on the shelf using one of the following steps:
    1. Select the scenario in the list and click Add.
    2. Double click the scenario in the list.
  7. Select Scenario 1 in the Scenario Manager and click Remove to clear it from the shelf.
  8. Click CLOSE to close the Scenario Manager.

Deselecting a Scenario on the shelf

For this exercise you will remove the original scenario from the shelf.
Before you can continue with this part of the tutorial you must have completed the previous tasks.
  1. Click on the shelf to open the Scenario Manager.
  2. In the item list (displayed in the right pane), select Scenario 1.
  3. Remove it from the shelf using one of the following steps:
    1. Select the scenario in the list and click Remove.
    2. Double click the scenario in the list.
  4. As an alternative way to close the Scenario Manager, click the shelf.

We shall now use Scenario 1A for the next exercise.
