getchar

Purpose
Get the UTF code of the first character of a text string.
Synopsis
function getchar(s:string):integer
Argument
s 
A text string
Return value
UTF code or 0 if the string is empty.
Further information
The compiler will replace the function call by a numerical constant if the function is applied to a constant string.
