Deploying Xpress Workbench on FICO® Platform

This section provides links and information on how to set up Xpress Workbench in FICO® Platform either on premises or in the FICO Analytic Cloud (FAC).

It assumes you have correctly configured either an on-premises installation of FICO® Platform, or have access to the FICO® Platform on the FAC.

On-premises installation of the FICO® Platform is covered in the FICO Platform X.x.xp Installation Guide (where X.x.x is the version number).

After it is installed, FICO® Platform provides access to the Catalog where you can add the Xpress Workbench component to your solution.
  • On the FAC, the Catalog provides access to many FICO Components. Each component that you acquire from the Catalog provides some specific set of decisioning capabilities. Typically, each component provides its own configuration or decision modeling interface, and enables the deployment of the model as a decision service.
  • For an on-premises installation of FICO® Platform, the Catalog must be populated with an archetype of any component you wish to deploy. When Xpress Workbench is deployed to FICO® Platform, the archetype provides the template for the Component.

Tableau Reporting

Xpress Insight supports Tableau, an optional component that enables integration of Tableau visualizations into the Xpress Insight user interface as custom views for advanced reporting.

Tableau is not supported through FICO® Platform when installed on-premises.

Adding the Archetype to On-Premises FICO® Platform

Archetypes are provided as Docker images by FICO through a remote private Docker registry. These images need to be pulled, re-tagged, and pushed to your Docker registry and upload it into FICO® Platform via the Manager Interface.

Licensing

The Xpress Workbench component is initially enabled with a free community license that restricts Workbench to running only small optimizations. These restrictions are removed when a license is enabled. For more, see the Xpress Insight Platform Component Guide.

Each FICO® Platform lifecycle stage (such as Design, Staging, and Production) has a different namespace. The license is applied to all Xpress components installed in the specified namespace. If you have applied a license to an Insight component, the Workbench component in that workspace is also included.
