Data Sources

Data I/O for the Xpress Insight system is performed by the Mosel or Python model capabilities.

A Python model can use any third-party package to access a data source.

A Mosel model can connect to data in memory through files, databases and web services. It connects to any ODBC-enabled data source, has a specific Oracle driver and drivers for Excel, CSV, XML, JSON as well as its own DAT format. Users can implement custom drivers and use Mosel's free form reading and writing capabilities.

In addition, users can copy and paste to and from Excel using the browser-based interface.

Data sources supported in Tableau are PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Vertica, ODBC and Tableau Data extracts.
