Common JavaScript API Issues
data-entity
attributes and entity names do not match. The same applies to all the otherdata-*
attributes.view.start()
was not called.- When you call the function
observer.bindAutoForm(...)
you must pass in an object with the correct keys. - The
formId
key has a capitalI
forId
- this is easily missed. - The
formId
value is the id of the HTML form in your markup. It should not include the pound (or hash) symbol and cannot be any other kind of CSS selector (such as a classname). This is slightly different behavior from the AutoText component that accepts a CSS selector because it can work on multiple items with one call. ThebindAutoForm
function only works with one form. - Always check the developer tools console of your browser in case any errors were introduced into the code.
- If the view is locked in another client view then any attempts to edit an input value will fail with an error message.
