Accessing the Xpress Insight Component

The following section describes how to navigate to the Xpress Insight component in FICO® Platform when deployed on-premises or FICO® Platform on the FICO® Analytic Cloud (FAC).The steps assume that you have access to the FAC and that FICO Professional Services or your solution administrator has deployed a FICO Platform solution with Xpress Insight.

Logging in to FICO® Platform

When an organization subscribes to the FAC, it normally provides a list of permitted users, which is used by FICO Professional Services to create the accounts and configure permissions. Users are provided with the URL to directly access the application. FICO Professional Services will fully prepare the environment ready for use; Xpress Insight is implemented as a FICO Platform component instance of a solution in FICO® Platform on the FAC. After the Xpress Insight component is successfully provisioned, authorized users can access Xpress Insight through the FAC.

Accessing Xpress Insight

After you log in, the SOLUTIONS tab on the main page displays all the solutions that you have access to. Open the solution that contains your Xpress Insight component and then click Components. Click the Insight component and then click Configure to open the Component Configuration window.

The Lifecycle Stages tab of the window shows details about the component instance deployed to each lifecycle stage (Design, Staging, and Production). The App Promotion: Design to Staging window controls which apps in the component are eligible to be promoted from Design to Staging. Depending on your user roles, you might also see the App Promotion: Staging to Production tab, which shows which apps are eligible to be deployed to Production. (For more information about lifecycle stages and app promotion, see Publishing Apps on FICO Platform.)

On the Lifecycle Stages tab, click the lifecycle stage where you want to open Xpress Insight. (You can only open a lifecycle stage that you have permission to access.) The Xpress Insight Home page opens.

Home Page

The Home page displays all the Xpress Insight apps you have permission to access. Administrators also have the following:
  • An UPLOAD APP button. This can be used to upload an app using the INSIGHT file format that has been exported from a local Xpress Insight deployment, or a ZIP file that contains the artifacts that comprise an app. Certain potentially insecure file extensions cannot be uploaded as attachments, even when contained in a zip archive. For more information, see Developing for Insight on FICO Platform.
  • The option to delete an existing app, available from the menu on the app tile.
  • An option on the top banner of the Web Client user interface to navigate to the Xpress Insight admin interface. The Admin interface allows the authority groups and app membership of users to be modified.

The App Pages

The Xpress Insight main pages are described in the Insight 5 Web Client User Guide. On the FAC, the App page may display an additional icon to the ones listed in the page in this manual. All the icons that may be displayed by the FICO® Platform version of Xpress Insight are displayed in this table.

The scenarios can have different statuses.

Expand Expands the collapsed shelf so that multiple rows of scenarios show, if necessary.
