Initializing help system before first use

Orientation

The Decision Table Editor opens in a split view by default. The pane on the left displays a table containing the data that is available for plotting. The pane on the right charts the data from the rows selected for display. Points on the chart correspond to the current value of a cell in the table. You can also edit these data table values by directly manipulating the chart nodes.

Table Pane

This pane displays the data imported in the csv file, and also contains:
  • the Column Manager, which allows you to add, rename, or remove data columns.
  • Two buttons which allow you to:
    • Add a new data row to the table.

    • Delete selected row(s) from the table.

  • A search field, enabling you to search the data table for an exact string or value (wildcards are not supported).
The data table will display scroll bars on the right and bottom of the pane when required.

Chart Pane

The right-hand pane shows the Chart view. This pane has a configuration panel at the bottom and the chart view above. The data columns to be used as the chart axis are selected in the configuration panel. Wildcard values in the data table are not shown in the chart.
