Particularly for larger models, using the Newton barrier method is faster in the earlier SLP iterations. Later on, when the basis information becomes more useful, a simplex method generally performs better.
XSLP_BARLIMIT sets the number of SLP iterations which will be performed using the Newton barrier method.
