Integrating with MySQL

You can configure Xpress Insight to use a MySQL database as its data repository.

Xpress Insight manages scenarios and other objects in a data store called the repository. By default, the repository is persisted using the local file storage of the server. This approach is adequate for small development installations. But for larger deployments, you can configure Insight to use a MySQL database to persist the repository. MySQL is recommended for large scale development installations and required for production systems.

You can also configure Insight to manage a second set of data called the mirror database. The mirror database is required if you want to integrate with a third-party business intelligence (BI) tool such as Tableau. MySQL is the only option for the mirror database.

Note: You must provide an installation of MySQL 8.x with vendor support for Insight to use.
