Working with Conda Environments

Conda is an open-source tool for managing packages, dependencies, and environments. At least one Conda environment is required if you are developing Insight apps using Python, Java, or R.(For more information about Conda environments, see the Conda documentation at https://docs.conda.io.)
If you deploy using one of the insight-local-conda-persistence_type configurations, an example Conda environment is configured by default. Xpress Insight uses the Miniconda installer to load this default environment when the worker container starts.

If you only need a single environment, you can customize this default environment for your own needs. You can also create additional environments, which you can then use when running Insight applications.
