Inputting and solving a Linear Programming problem

In this chapter we take the example formulated in Chapter Building models and show how to implement the model with the FICO® Xpress Python API. With some extensions to the initial formulation we also introduce input and output functionalities of the Python interface:

  • writing an LP model with Python,
  • data input from file,
  • output facilities of the Python interface,
  • exporting a problem to a matrix file.

Chapter Inputting and solving a Linear Programming problem shows how to formulate and solve the same example with Mosel, Chapter Inputting and solving a Linear Programming problem contains the same content for Java, and in Chapter Inputting and solving a Linear Programming problem the problem is input and solved directly using the low-level C API of FICO® Xpress Optimizer.
