Initializing help system before first use

Required Software

The following software components are required for a basic local development environment using Xpress Workbench as the IDE:
  • An installation of FICO ® Xpress (contains Xpress Workbench). To install the Xpress software, please read the Xpress Installation Guide.
  • The Insight 5 Development Kit which augments an Xpress installation with the binaries, examples and offline documentation to support development of an Insight app with the Mosel language.
  • Access to an installation of FICO® Xpress Insight 5. This can be a remote shared installation or a local installation. For local installation, please read the Insight Installation Guide for Xpress Insight 5.
Note: If you are using the FAC hosted versions of the software then the assumption is that your account and software have already been provisioned. There are some minor differences between on-premises and FAC versions of Xpress Workbench. With a few logical accommodations you will still be able to follow the exercises and progression of this chapter.
