Creating a Scenario

This topic describes how to create a scenario and load the default input data.
Before you can create a scenario, an app must have been added from an app archive.
A scenario is required so you, the user, can interact with the optimization model at the heart of the application, and its related data.
  1. From the HOME page, select the app in which you want to create a scenario. The APP page is displayed.
  2. Click the shelf to open the Scenario Manager.
  3. In the left-hand pane, click the New Scenario button.
  4. In the dialog window, enter the name of the new scenario. Choose whether to include default data for the scenario:
    1. Select the Load default input data ? check box to populate the scenario with the default data.
    2. Clear the Load default input data ? check box to populate the scenario with the default data.
  5. Optionally, click the adjacent fields to edit the scenario properties in the dialog, and click SAVE after each edit. The editable options are:
    1. Scenario Notes - Edit the description of the scenario.
    2. Sharing - Change how the scenario is shared between users, select one of the following options in the drop-down list:
      • Private - No sharing with other users
      • Shared read only - Other users can view the scenario but cannot modify or delete it.
      • Full access - Other users can view, modify, and delete the scenario.
    3. Owner: Change the owner of the scenario.
    4. Location: Change where the scenario is to be held.
  6. Click CLOSE to return to the Scenario Manager.
The scenario is created and will need to be edited to enter the data and then run. You can enter data by editing the default data in the pages of the app, or by loading data from an external source.
