gzip

Purpose
Compress a file with GZIP.
Synopsis
procedure gzip(src:text, dst:text)
procedure gzip(src:text)
Arguments
src 
File to compress.
dst 
Name of the resulting file (default: src+".gz").
Example
 gzip("myfile.txt")
   ! -> GZIP myfile.txt myfile.txt.gz       (if MODE other than 'clean')
   ! -> RM myfile.txt.gz                    (if MODE='clean')
 checkdir("subdir")
   ! -> MKPATH subdir
 gzip("myfile.txt","subdir/myfile.gz")
   ! -> GZIP myfile.txt subdir/myfile.gz    (if MODE other than 'clean')
   ! -> RM subdir/myfile.txt.gz             (if MODE='clean')
   ! -> RMDIR subdir                        (if MODE='clean')
Further information
1. The operation will be performed if runmode is not "clean" and the source file is newer than the destination file.
2. The destination file will be deleted if runmode is "clean".
